How You Can Help Us

You may not realise that in fact, you can help us in many ways. Even if you do not have the time to become a regular volunteer, there are other ways you can make a difference, and they are not too onerous either.

You could assist us by:

Organising a single event to raise funds. This could be on any theme and our nearest group of volunteers will always be able to help support such initiatives.

Attend our regular events and contribute to the critical income enabling our operations to continue.

Think of donating to our charity shops if you or a neighbour or friend are replacing furniture or home items in reasonably good condition. We also accept clothing, shoes and ladies bags in good condition.

Send us your email address and name and we will send you our quarterly “Events List.” With this, you could pass on the information to neighbours, friends and family. To do this, simply email: mabsmurciapr@hotmail.com

If you are able to help us by volunteering, please review our positions within the organisation – “Volunteer Posts.”

Below is a testimony on volunteering, from one of our own volunteers.

“The MABS organisation is run entirely by volunteers, a lot of whom give up their time because they or a family member have been helped by MABS. Mum and I now volunteer one day a week for 5 hours. Mum takes calls in the Centre and I work in the shop in San Javier. It has filled a void left by not caring 24//7 for Dad. We have met some lovely people and we go to bed knowing we have done something good that day. I also sometimes drive patients to hospital who are unable to do so themselves through their illness. It is not all doom and gloom either. Cure rates are improving all the time, and by helping out we can really make a difference, whether by working directly with the patients or fund raising. I can recommend volunteering as a very rewarding pastime.”
